What is a Biohazard Cleaning Service

Biohazardous cleaning removes and cleanses a biological hazard, such as crime scene cleaning, needle sweeps, mould and mildew cleaning and unattended death cleaning.

Our Process

It is very important to know the cleaning procedure used by the biohazard firm you’ve arranged to perform the work for you. We follow a strict step by step process to ensure the work is done professionally and meets your requirements.

Assessment

As professional biohazard cleaners in Derbyshire, we first evaluate the situation, this gives us a clear understanding of the environment, conditions, the severity of the problem and importantly, ensures we know exactly what equipment and products to supply. We can not rely on customer descriptions for this reason. Following the initial assessment, we produce our scope of work, risk assessment and costs for completing the service, which are passed to you, your insurance company or the referrer. Once agreed, we book a convenient date for your service.

The Clean

Separation and initial remediation

We require properties to be vacant for safety reasons and to eliminate the risk of cross contamination or exposure to toxins. We will secure and restrict access to unaffected areas of the property also. Once the area is safe, a water based, NHS approved, antimicrobial is diffused, which provides effective elimination of many bacteria, viruses and yeasts, including, MRSA, E.coli, Listeria and Salmonella. The correct formula for your needs will have already been identified at the assessment.

Biohazard Removal

We would then remove and dispose of any biohazardous material in accordance with The Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005. This includes provision of the correct Consignment Notes. Our team would come fully equipped with protective clothing, including disposable over suit, gloves, face masks, glasses or goggles and safety shoes.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Removal of the biohazardous material will not be enough in itself, we would then fully clean the area using industry approved cleaning products, removing any remaining biological hazards and microorganisms and ensure the area is safe to be used.

Deodorise and Inspect and Test

On completion of the work, the area is deodorised to ensure there are no unpleasant smells left. A further inspection takes place to detect any possible remaining hazards. If anything is found thew whole process is repeated.

We then request the presence of the client to review the scope of work and confirm completion.

Benefits of Biohazard Cleaning

There are multiple benefits to a professiona biological hazard clean:

Ultimate safety- toxic pathogens can severely affect any human’s health, appropriate cleaning prevents any further harm.

Expertise- Whether the service needed is a crime scene cleanup, hazardous waste removal, or trauma cleaning services, you are in the safest hands with skilled and experienced cleaners.

Time-saving- This benefit will allow you to have the biohazard cleaning process completed in a short time, rather than completing in weeks/ months by yourself.

Relieving - Biological hazards can be at worst, frightening and a best, weigh on your mind. Knowing that you are returning to a safe environment is a great step in relieving stress.

Why Shouldn’t You Undertake Biohazard Cleaning Yourself?

Undertaking a biohazard cleaning by yourself could risk your physical and mental health. For example, the removal of mold can distribute spores through the air which then remain in your house and can be breathed in. Mold spores are dangerous to your health and can cause breathing problems amongst other physical health issues. Further, incidents involving the death of a loved one can be traumatic and doing the cleanup yourself could have long lasting effects. Our cleaning services greatly reduce your involvement in the process of rectifying the environment, helping you to focus on recovery.

Biological hazards not only pose a risk to you but to those around you, visitors and animals. Blood borne viruses e.g. HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C can live on surfaces for up to 36 days (UCLA study, Robert Heimer). While you can certainly clean bodily fluids yourself, the possibility of leaving traces of the fluid can be high and suitable product availability is often limited to commercial holdings. As insignificant as they may seem, the traces carry a potential health risk to you and your family. With cleaning services like ours, you are assured that the biohazard threat will be completely neutralised. We adhere to all health and safety procedures and our team and client's safety are paramount.
